Zack’s Diner never disappoints! The milkshakes are absolutely amazing — rich, creamy, and worth the visit on their own. The food is great too; I especially enjoyed the poutine. Friendly vibes, good portions, and a place I’ll definitely be coming back to!

Sadly had the worse breakfast burrito plate today at Zac’s diner on Elgin. No taste of salsa or guacamole at all. Very dry with an omelet in it. I opened it up and found a faint hint of guacamole. Disappointed to say the least. Usually like their food. My friends eggs Benedict were good. Suggestion: serve with salsa on top of it or in cup instead of baked beans lol

For $29 with tax and tip you get a raw burger, 10 onion rings, the coleslaw that they forgot, AND the side pickle that they forgot. It’s actually terrible and gross that they didn’t cook the burger throughout, steak is fine to eat rare because parasites are only on the outside, but because ground beef is mushed, parasites are all throughout. never again. I stopped in at Zak’s Diner in Ottawa and was really impressed. The prices were fair, and the food was excellent. I had a classic breakfast with eggs, bacon, and French toast. The bacon stood out the most—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The French toast was soft with just the right touch of sweetness, and the eggs were done just right. On top of that, I tried one of their milkshakes and it was fantastic—thick, creamy, and easily one of the best diner milkshakes I’ve had. The portions were generous, service was friendly, and the retro diner vibe made it a great experience overall. Definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone looking for a hearty breakfast in Ottawa. 📸 (See photo for reference—everything looked as good as it tasted

What a fine establishment. My grandma used to always say; “there are those who live and those who survive.” That quote has nothing to do with my experience at this diner. Great poutine and milkshakes tho!
