First of all, the waitress can read minds!! Why have I come to that conclusion, well I hady coffee when I just about it, she must have known what I was going to order because my food arrived very quickly, and when my partner was slowing down eating her meal, she came to our table with a take home box. Second, if you are diabetic, we can substitute these sides for the hash browns. Well, I am and it was a great change to see there were more diabetic friendly options. Thank you Third, while place was half filled with others enjoying breakfast, no one was left waiting. This crew works well together. I am coming for breakfast again.

The Sal is a gem in a great location, offering plenty of seating and an inviting atmosphere. The service is excellent – friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Thank you Brittany! But what really sets The Sal apart is the food. Every dish feels like it’s made with care, comfort, and heart. It’s the kind of food that makes you feel like you’re right at home, warm, satisfying, and absolutely delicious. A spot worth returning to again and again!

We visited The Sal in Thunder Bay and ordered the fish and chips and fish tacos. The flavors were good, but both dishes were a bit too greasy for our liking. On the bright side, the staff were friendly and attentive, which made the overall experience pleasant. It was okay, but not a place we’d rush back to.

This place was a cute little diner. We stopped by for some poutine on our way back home and they did not disappoint! We also got the burger nip and the hot honey fried chicken sandwich. I would say the chicken sandwich wasn't spicy like I would hope it to be but they were both very delicious. The server was friendly and helpful with recommendations. We didn't have trouble parking when we went, but it looked like depending on the day it could be very busy. It's just street parking. If we ever drive the 7 hours back up here, I'd definitely go back again!
