I had a really good experience at Sumoki. The place is clean, aesthetic, and minimalistic. It’s a nice spot to go with friends or even for a date night. We tried several dishes and everything was nicely presented. The Sumoki Wings and the Wagyu skewer were my favorites. The Matcha Beer and Tres Leches Horchata were definitely something different and unique. I haven’t seen anything like that anywhere else in Toronto. The service was attentive and welcoming throughout the night. I’d definitely come back to try more from the menu. It’s honestly becoming one of my favorite spots in Toronto.

Great meat quality! The spices are great and the cook on everything we ordered was great. I didn’t love the scallops - they had a very grainy chewy texture. I would also skip the dessert mochi - they were super tasteless - I wish they added a bit more sugar or some extra sweetest. Overall it was a nice spot!

+ Skewers are good, can taste they are good quality meat. +/- no smokey flavor at all, depends on preference - pork don def don’t recommend. Very oily and not flavorful. - Def on a higher price point, average $6/skewer. Cost-effectiveness: 68%

I booked a reservation at Sumoki for our anniversary, and from the moment we arrived, we were greeted with such warm hospitality! The place has a cozy, modern vibe, perfect for a date night or any special occasion. We ordered a bunch of dishes, but the standouts were definitely the soft-shell crab burger, aged mochi, lamb chops, and the pork and beef skewers .all packed with flavor and beautifully done. My partner also really loved the onigiri. Our server was super friendly and made the whole experience even better. The sweetest part? They surprised us with a complimentary mango cheesecake with a candle to celebrate our anniversary. Such a thoughtful touch that really made the night special. We had an amazing time and will definitely be coming back again soon!

We visited here for a weekend lunch and the restaurant was packed with people who were enjoying their food and the cozy vibes. Sumoki Yakitori offers tasty Japanese-style skewers and small plates. The grilled items are cooked just right—smoky, juicy, and full of flavour. There’s a good variety to choose from; chicken, beef and vegetables. We ordered “Age Mochi”, “Chicken Oyster”, “Momo”, “Negima”, “Tsukune + Egg Yolk Dip”, “Cheese Momo”, Hiza (Knee Cartilage)”, Beef Tongue”, “Beef Tenderloin + Chimichurri”, “Garlic Sprout Maki”, “Mentaiko Carbonara Udon”, “Yaki-Onigiri (2 pcs)”, and “Breast w/ Wasabi”. Every skewer was fresh and tasty. My favourite was Beef Tenderloin with Chimichurri. We paired our meal with beautiful drinks that hit the spot: “Yamayuzu Matcha” and “Fairy Yuzu”. To finish on a sweet note, we ordered “Grilled Mochi (Sweet)” and “Dango”, which we enjoyed. The staff are friendly and quick, and the food comes out fresh and hot.
