The Ports is about as good as they come when it comes to a local pub! Amazing yet nondescript location, amazing food, all the character you can imagine, amazing staff, great fresh beer, so many TVs always playing what everyone is coming to the bar to watch, lots of lovely friends evolving and enjoying each others company... happy to call this our local spot... ps their fish tacos and chicken Cesar wraps are amazing, some of the best fries going period as well... consistency is what is synonymous with the Ports!! Only problem is the Kitchen closes way to early most of the time 😒

My friend and I visited the Portsmouth Tavern with his service dog, and the experience was genuinely excellent. The gentleman who greeted and seated us was professional, kind, and clearly well-informed. He asked for the correct documentation (per the AODA), didn’t interact with the dog at all, and treated the situation exactly as it should be handled. No awkwardness, no overstepping; just calm, respectful competence. What really stood out was when another patron tried to approach and interact with the dog and wouldn’t take the hint. Staff stepped in and advocated immediately, reinforcing boundaries without making it uncomfortable for anyone. That kind of awareness and support is rare and deeply appreciated. It’s refreshing to see a business that not only "allows" service dogs but actually understands their role and protects their handlers. Huge thanks to the staff for doing it right! We’ll absolutely be back.

I love the Ports. Cold beer, great food, and staff so friendly they might actually remember your name. Prime harbour location with walking trails for when you need to “walk off” one too many pints. It was my grandfather’s go-to when he worked at the pen, and now I’m proudly continuing the tradition. 6 stars.

Ols school pub with locals, sports, drinks and good food. The place has a feel about it that is positively charming and the staff is great. Service is polite and you almost feel like you're back home. The food itself is good. No fuss, no fluff, just good food, as it should be! Get there for a break, it's a great experience!

Wow! Amazing place. The staff were super friendly and helpful. We wanted to change something in our burger and they did it immediately. We tried their famous PKBurger and fish-n-fries/chips. Both were superb, delicious, mouthwatering and great. I highly recommend this place. Update (Aug. 2022): we went there with my parents. I tried Mushrooms Mozza and it was great. My parents loved its environment and the gentleman who worked there.
