I was in the mood for a good poutine, so I turned to Google for suggestions and came across The Manitou Takeout. Based on the reviews and local buzz, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the chicken poutine, beef poutine, and also tried their chicken and fish sandwiches. Unfortunately, I didn’t find the food to be worth the price or the hype. While I haven’t eaten poutine from countless places, I have had some truly good poutines and sandwiches in the past, and this just didn’t compare for me. The flavors didn’t quite match my expectations, and overall, it didn’t leave me wanting to come back. That said, taste is subjective — it’s entirely possible that my palate simply isn’t accustomed to their style or seasoning. Many people seem to enjoy this spot, so it might still be worth trying if you’re curious. But personally, I wouldn’t rate it as a standout in Kitchener’s food scene.

The Grilling Father

I brought a group of 6 here today and I'm the only one who has been here before. I'm glad to report that Manitou Takeout has earned 5 more new customers. We ordered a classic poutine, a pulled pork poutine, a roast beef poutine, a pickle poutine, chicken fingers and 2 hamburgers. Everything we ordered was fulfilled properly and took less than 15 minutes. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious. Generous portions, plenty of dark and delicious gravy and crispy fries. The pulled pork was delicious and not spicy. The roast beef was tender and very flavourful. The staff were friendly and efficient.

I’ve been coming here on Mother’s Day for a couple of years now and every time has been an amazing experience. The prices are great, the staff is friendly, and the service is fast even when they’re busy. The food always tastes fantastic. I had the chicken sandwich and my family ordered hot dogs, sausages, and poutine. Everything was delicious. Just keep in mind that seating is limited. I do however highly recommend stopping by!

I did try the Newie Bologna burger, just cause. It was alright. The fries were AWESOME. Water is water. JP LIKED the chicken sandwich, he was done before I was half way.. Will be back to test more of the menu. Great service and my stomach didn't hurt today. All good.

Good food. I ordered a small crispy chicken poutine (they also had the large option) and battered mushrooms. The total bill including tax came to about 18$, I felt it was a little pricey for the quantity. But they food tasted really good. I might go there again to try more things from their menu.
