Liberty Eats offers a delicious 6oz burger at a decent price of only $10.99 and you can make it a combo for about a 1 dollar more (it includes the side of fries).
What I love about this place is I have been searching in the West End for a great burger place that doesn’t smash their burgers. I’m not a fan of smash burgers, it’s greasier, unhealthier and you get less meat. The appeal of efficiency or crispiness is not exactly what I’m looking for when it comes to a regular burger. Generally, if I am looking to eat something crispy, I’d get it breaded like a crispy chicken sandwich.
Ultimately, Liberty Eats delivers to me a real burger with meat sourced from a butcher for a great price.
Food
For the food, based on quality and price, I would give this place 5/5 stars.
Their menu here is a bit confusing. I had their Liberty Burger (as reference from the self-serving kiosk) that is also referred to as the Be My Burger (as referenced from their front menu display screen). The Liberty Burger on the kiosk is $10.99 and the Be My Burger on the display screen at the front is $14. I think the actual price for all the food items is on the kiosk.
For that reason, I have posted the entire menu from the kiosk, as well as the original front menu screens for reference.
The burger was amazing for the price. Fresh, hot and to make it a combo, with fries, it’s exactly 91 cents extra. It’s a great meal, an excellent price and I highly recommend it.
Service
For the service, I would give this place 3/5 stars.
The pricing on the kiosk was significantly cheaper than the front menu display screens. I prefer ordering in-person, as I dislike touching self-serve screens if there is not an available washroom to use to wash your hands prior to eating for sanitary reasons. For that reason, I asked if they could honour the pricing ordering at the front since if you look at the video of the front, there is no washroom access at this location.
However, I did ask to confirm if there were washrooms in case and the staff told me there was, at the door that has a sign that says Employees Only. I used it later to wash my hands after eating but again, confusing. There is also no hook in the ladies, and it is a very cramped space. I’m unsure if this washroom is accessible normally to the public given the sign but I’ve mentioned it in the review in case. Since both the menu and washroom situation here are both confusing.
I deducted 1 star because their machine was not working at the front and the only way to pay was to input the order manually through the self-serve kiosk and pay.
I deducted 1 additional star because coming here for the first time it was hard to order. The front menu screens have a very strong glare (as can be seen from the photos) and it is hard to distinguish and clearly see anything on the menu. The items listed on the front screen menus were not the same as the kiosk, I’m not sure if that is an incentive to use the automated service or they just have not updated the screens, but the front menus do not tell you a lot. There is no information about the ingredients in their burgers, and the pricing was not correct/different on the kiosk.
Other than those two things, the people here are exceptionally nice, kind and warm. They’re very helpful, and I do recommend making an effort to gain their attention so you can have them clarify anything prior to ordering.
Atmosphere
I would give the atmosphere here for a quick bite to eat 5/5. It’s relaxing, there is a decent amount of seating and it was very clean. I sincerely enjoyed my meal.
I recently had the chance to try their Caesar salad, and it was absolutely delicious—crispy romaine, perfectly seasoned croutons, and just the right amount of creamy dressing. Today, I decided to try the Souvlaki, and I have to say it was fantastic as well! The meat was juicy and tender, perfectly grilled, and paired with fresh vegetables. Both dishes were flavorful and satisfying, making me eager to return and try more of their menu. Highly recommend!
