A friend of mine and I went last Saturday with the intent of eating our way through some of the flavors newcomers to Canada brought with them and we weren't disappointed. They have a huge menu, most of which I have never heard of. Each day had a special listed on the menu, we had the Saturday special, can't remember what it was called (Stewed chicken leg, rice n beans, side of plantain)...very tasty and well prepared. The atmosphere could use some work by N. American dining out standards but it didn't bug us at all - seasoned travellers, the place was quiet and we played our own music on low. We would definitely try it again. They serve this red hibiscus? drink. Very tasty and a must try item.

We placed an order for two chicken shawarmas for takeout and our total came to just over 30$. It didn't feel as though these shawarmas were substantial enough to warrant a 15$ pricetag. It was a chicken hotdog, a few pieces of chicken, and coleslaw wrapped in a tortilla. Read great reviews sorry to say this might not be THE go to spot.

I initially met one of the cooks at Five Star Bakery where she worked prior to being at the restaurant. Both her and her husband are very friendly. The food is very flavourful. There is Nigerian and East Indian cuisine. Impressive. Really starting to enjoy the new people and foods coming to our city!

Love this Indian/Nigerian fusion restaurant in Thunder Bay! Here for work this week and found Jass Hikky's on Google. The food was prepared got and fresh and the portions were generous! We had the J+H joloff/fried rice combo with coleslaw and plantain - a must try! We also tried the "Chapman" drink which had a nice orange flavour! Also had the opportunity to chat with the owner and she was so lovely and enthusiastic about the business! 5 stars, would recommend! (Edited to add photos) 🙂

On a chilly day, we ended up at this restaurant, which was a wonderful decision and the food was so filling; we tried their Momos (Nepalese Dumplings) with amazing yellow dipping sauce and the Shawarma wrap. Portion size was great for the price and the Momos were just wow! I guess it is an old restaurant with a new menu!
