Dirty Pool Halibut House. Went for the $14.99 cod and chips today. I wanted an extra piece of fish, server asked me if I wanted a 2 piece and I'm thinking, yes, I guess that's what I'm ordering. But no, they charged me for a 2 piece, which is almost $35.00. When I could have just got the 2 specials for par and they could have said something about the specials being more food. It just annoys me so much, every business gets more devious

I got this for dinner tonight, and I also ordered the same for my son. His order arrived in the same box with three pieces of fish instead of four. Mine was priced at $17.99, and his was $12.99. Given the price, I'd expect a slightly larger portion of fish. And the fact that they are fish sticks should have been in the name when ordering.

My partner and enjoyed the generous portion of fish and chips. Had halibut and a Caesar salad. Fresh, crisp, tasty. Friendly service with a smile! Took a picture, but only after enjoying most of it...lol.

I've been here for the classic fish and chips dinner before, but today I tried breakfast for the first time. Lots of options and great prices! I got the grand slam combo and almost couldn't finish it all. Potatoes were a little overcooked and not really seasoned, but otherwise everything was great! Coffee was good, too. The place was full by the time I was leaving.

I opted for the classic halibut and chips, naturally. The halibut itself was flaky, moist, and perfectly cooked. The batter was light, crispy, and not greasy at all – a crucial point for any good fish and chips. You could tell the oil was fresh and clean, which makes a world of difference. The fries were exactly what I hoped for- thick-cut, and golden brown. The restaurant itself is a no-frills, classic diner-style setup. It's clean, comfortable, and has a welcoming atmosphere. I found the prices to be reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. You definitely get your money's worth here. I highly recommend giving Halibut House a try. You won't be disappointed! We will visit again when back to Kingston.
