We went on a weekday evening and it was already so packed around 6pm. You go in and use the tablet to reserve your spot, and it gives you a number that they will call. We got a seat around 7:30 ish, not bad. The dishes were all of a tolerable spice. I love the Sichuan pepper in the dishes, it adds this numbness and depth to the dishes. The meat dishes all came with a good amount of meat! The fried rice was my favourite, it was the perfect level of salty.

🍆 Eggplant Appetizer: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ perfectly balanced refreshing cold eggplant with spicy savoury sauce. 🥘 Kung Pao Chicken: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ chicken was very tender and overall a great execution of kung pao chicken 🍲 Mapo Tofu: 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ great execution of mapo tofu. we were meaning to try the thousand layer tofu but it was sold out so we opted for this instead. All the dishes we tried pretty much had the same flavour profile so even if it's good, it gets tiring after a while. Need to come back and try out different flavour combinations.

Coming here with strong recommendation by local friends, I was really impressed by the quality of food and services. The dishes are really authentic and tasty, way over my expectation. The services people, Andy， Harris，小僮 are nice and pleasant. Highly recommend for people interested in tasty Chinese cuisine.

Follow @bredgyeats for more food posts! Apparently, authentic Chengdu food is hard to find in Toronto, but I think you can get pretty close with this. I usually like mapo tofu on its own, but they take it to another level with duck blood that adds a similar, yet distinct, chewier texture compared to the tofu to create a pleasant heterogeneous texture. The spice level is quite acceptable for first-timers too, adding a fragrant chilli aroma that complements the savory ground pork inside. Despite its name, this beefy dish tastes much better than it sounds as it swims in an aromatic pool of dried chilis, Sichuan peppercorns, chili oil and a savory broth. The beef has been tenderized for an easy bite for you, with a generous helping of bean sprouts for a crisp contrast in textures that also soak up a ton of broth. Oh, and don't forget the rice.

This restaurant is a must-visit if you love bold, spicy flavors. The food was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of heat—flavorful, not overpowering—and every dish tasted fresh and well-prepared. The spice levels were spot on and really stood out compared to other places. The service was just as impressive. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to help with recommendations, making the whole experience smooth and enjoyable. Orders came out on time, and everything was served with care. Overall, a great place for spicy food lovers with top-notch service. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🌶️
