We had a wonderful date night at this hidden gem in Callander. Everything from service to food created an outstanding experience. The atmosphere was designed with an inviting low light setting perfect for an elegant night out. We had: Appetizer: Crab Wontons This appetizer is amazing! Kind of like cheese wontons at a sushi place but so much better. Golden crunchy on the outside, creamy on the inside served with a hit of spicy cream mayo on the side. Dish 1: The Rib Eye Steak Special It came with fingerling potatoes beautifully done with a garlic herb outer taste and soft perfect center. The veggies were balanced in flavour and texture making them easily enjoyable. The steak itself was seasoned to perfection and every bite was juicy to the last. I had ordered it rare but felt got it more of a medium rare. I believe that's because it not a thick short steak but a long regular steak (like any 16 ounce one usually is). So to get more of a rare finish it would have possibly been a good idea to cook it a bit less. None the less it was amazing and I still recommend it. Dish 2: Blue cheese with Caramelized Onion Burger Special I'm not a fan of blue cheese but feel if theres anyway to have it, it's in this burger. The burger patty is thick and juicy with a balance of seasoning and the toppings compliment it well. The. blue cheese leaves a creamy background texture without taking away from anything else. The side of fries are perfection with a salty crunchy exterior and soft full interior. Dessert: Upside down Chocolate Banana Cake The Ideal finish to a spectacular meal. This is easily one of my favourite top 5 desserts. It was so good after the first bite I split it in half letting my partner know lol! It's a beautiful moist cake with a sweet cream sauce underneath and whipped cream with crunchy banana slices on the side. The presentation was also prefect. We also got 2 glasses of wine and a glass of beer. Definitely pricy but worth the experience. 2nd Visit Better then the first experience (didn't think it was possible) MUST TRY: escargot special And fettuccine steak pasta
